The upcoming House of Lakmē Grand Finale for Lakmē Fashion Week, in collaboration with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), promises an extraordinary presentation by Rahul Mishra. His global luxury ready-to-wear label, AFEW, will unveil its Fall-Winter 2024 collection in India after its debut at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris. The showcase is scheduled for March 17th at 9:30 PM at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai.
Lakmē Fashion Week has long served as a pioneering platform at the intersection of fashion and beauty, fostering creativity and innovation for over two decades. It celebrates the finest design talents, showcasing India’s unique voices on a global stage. Returning to the platform where he first debuted in 2006 as part of the GenNext program, Rahul Mishra will introduce AFEW’s inaugural presentation in the country.
Additionally, this season sees the launch of the MultiSlayer Face and Cover Sticks by the House of Lakmē. These revolutionary products aim to simplify beauty routines by offering a gender-neutral solution that combines foundation, blush, contour stick, and highlighter in just 2-3 sticks. With their slick, edgy design and multipurpose nature, the Lakmē MultiSlayer Sticks provide versatile beauty looks with an easy-to-blend application. Complemented by the DefineU Augmented Reality (AR) tool available on www.Lakmēindia.com, this launch offers an immersive experience for achieving everyday sculpted face definition, catering to diverse beauty preferences and styles.
The show will showcase a vision rooted in sculpture and definition, exploring beauty and fashion through AFEW’s Fall-Winter ’24 collection, where the designer draws inspiration from nature as the ultimate sculptor and artist. By appreciating the inherent structural personality of simple natural forms through the lens of a sculptor, the collection features silhouettes in vibrant solid hues and graphic textures, incorporating geometric representations that highlight the relationship between stone and sculpture.
This inspiration is evident in the rigid yet organic installations of natural forms, featuring vegetal and animal motifs. Additionally, the collection pays homage to the designer’s eight-year-old daughter’s influence on his creative process, with visuals partly inspired by the children’s story “The Fox and the Star,” with characters appearing alongside other imaginative structures.
