Jahan-e-Khusrau Returns for its Silver Jubilee: A Grand Celebration of Sufi Music & Spirituality

📍 Sunder Nursery, New Delhi | February 28 – March 2, 2025

A Legacy of 25 Years, A Celebration of Unity

New Delhi, February 2025 – The world-renowned Jahan-e-Khusrau festival is set to return for its landmark Silver Jubilee edition from February 28 to March 2, 2025, at Sunder Nursery, New Delhi. Conceptualized and curated by Muzaffar Ali, this extraordinary festival has, for 25 years, celebrated the timeless wisdom of Sufi traditions, bringing together luminaries from across the globe.

Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has extended his heartfelt greetings to the festival organizers, commending Muzaffar Ali for his dedication to preserving India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage. In his message, he emphasized:
“India is a land of spirituality, art, and culture. For centuries, music has been an integral part of our society, acting as a rejuvenating and healing force. May the Silver Jubilee of Jahan-e-Khusrau continue to build bridges of peace, harmony, and friendship across nations.”

Jahan-e-Khusrau: A Global Cultural Movement

With 30 editions across the world, Jahan-e-Khusrau has become more than just a festival—it is a movement that revives and reimagines the mystical traditions of Rumi, Amir Khusrau, Baba Bulleh Shah, and Lalleshwari. Since its inception in 2000, the festival has seamlessly blended voices and traditions from Iran to Kashmir, creating a universal language of music, poetry, and dance.

Over the years, Jahan-e-Khusrau has discovered and nurtured exceptional talent, offering a platform to artists like Sonam Kalra, Amaan & Ayaan Ali Khan, Fateh Ali, Murad Ali Khan, and Deveshi Sehgal, alongside legends such as Abida Parveen, Shubha Mudgal, Gurdas Mann, Kailash Kher, and Satinder Sartaaj.

This year’s theme, “Unity in Diversity,” embodies the vision of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—a world connected through art, music, and spiritual heritage.

Muzaffar Ali: The Visionary Behind Jahan-e-Khusrau

Renowned filmmaker, painter, and cultural curator Muzaffar Ali has dedicated his life to celebrating India’s syncretic heritage. Best known for his cinematic masterpiece Umrao Jaan (1981), he envisions Jahan-e-Khusrau as a space where music, poetry, and devotion merge, reminding us that love is the ultimate path to unity.

“Jahan-e-Khusrau was born from the whispers of saints and the melodies of mystics. For 25 years, it has been a sanctuary of peace, beauty, and transcendence. This Silver Jubilee edition is an invitation—to rediscover the soul of Sufi traditions and celebrate the harmony that binds us all.”Muzaffar Ali

Meera Ali: A Force Behind the Festival

Architect, author, and cultural entrepreneur Meera Ali plays a vital role in shaping the artistic and cultural vision of Jahan-e-Khusrau. With a passion for heritage conservation, she ensures the festival remains a seamless fusion of art, music, and history.

“In a world often divided, Jahan-e-Khusrau is a testament to the power of art to unite. This festival is more than an event—it is a movement, inspiring and healing through music, poetry, and collective experience.”Meera Ali
