To mark a tribute on the occasion of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’, Jaipur Watch Company unveils timepiece that features one of the most revered aspects of Independent India’s history, The Baagh Collection!
Features
Created by using a particular One Rupee Coin from the year 1947, bearing a Tiger on the face. The Walking tiger (Baagh in Hindi) has close resemblance with the Make In India Logo. This One Rupee Coin holds its significance as it was the last coin minted under the British Rule. It was minted only in the years 1946(second half) and 1947.
Although this collection was planned a while back and was to be executed about 2 years ago, it took a while to collect the coins in UNC condition, from auctions and numismatic societies, as this is such a unique coin and extremely difficult to find in uncirculated condition.
The “Baagh Collection” runs on a Japanese Miyota 8215 Automatic movement. Serial-numbered to 100 units each, the collection is available in 4 variants; golden and silver colored cases with Roman and Devanagari numerals. The watch has a sapphire crystal with AR coating from inside and a partial see-through back. The Watch is water resistant upto 5 ATM.
Price – INR 45,000/- for the Silver variants and Rs 50,000/- for the Golden variant.
