Honoring India’s Textile Legacy
At Lakmé Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI, Shruti Sancheti presented her collection Advayaa, inspired by India’s rich textile heritage. The collection spotlighted two iconic motifs – chintz and paisleys – commonly seen in Kashmiri shawls. These traditional designs were the foundation for Shruti’s creative exploration, reflecting the timeless beauty of Indian crafts.
Craftsmanship Reimagined
Known for her innovative approach, Shruti seamlessly integrated these motifs through woven, embroidered, and printed techniques. Handcrafted methods like kalamkari and screen printing, combined with intricate embroidery and exquisite weaves, brought depth and richness to each garment. Fabrics such as satin, matka silk, Chanderi, and organza were carefully selected, adding a luxurious and contemporary touch to the collection.

Modern Style with Heritage Influence
Advayaa focused on slow fashion, with layering as a key design element. The collection, while rooted in western silhouettes, incorporated elements of Indian craftsmanship, featuring trenches, capes, boleros, bralettes, and innerwear in neutral tones. The mix-and-match versatility of the separates showcased a blend of modern global styles and traditional Indian motifs.
Timeless and Global Appeal
“The collection celebrates India’s rich legacy of textiles and craftsmanship,” said Shruti Sancheti. “It embodies slow fashion and understated luxury, making it timeless and suitable for generations to come.”
Advayaa is a tribute to heritage, blending traditional motifs with contemporary fashion, ensuring its appeal to a global audience while preserving the essence of India’s artistry.
