A TRADITIONAL FEAST

As celebrations turn intimate this year with people spreading the Christmas cheer at the comfort of their home, prepare these easy-to-make recipes… 

Ginger Bread Cookies

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Unsalted Butter                                    – 430 gm
  2. Sugar                                       – 430 gm
  3. Liquid Glucose                         – 360 gm
  4. Milk                                          – 180 ml
  5. Refine Flour                              – 1195 gm
  6. Baking Soda                             – 12 gm
  7. Cinnamon Powder                    – 10 gm
  8. Ginger Powder                         – 15 gm

PROCEDURE:

  1. Take a clean thick bottom saucepan and add sugar, butter, liquid glucose and milk and heat in a medium flame and mix it properly.
  2. Then measure all the dry ingredients like refine flour, baking soda, cinnamon powder and ginger powder.
  3. After that put it in a dough mixing bowl and add the liquid solution, mix this properly.
  4. Then the cookie dough is ready. Give rest for 30 min, then roll it and cut it in the desired shape.
  5. Bake the dough at 180 degree Celsius for 20-22 minutes.

After baking, cool it and serve.

Plum Cake

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Unsalted Butter                                                – 250 gm
  2. Brown Sugar                                         – 250 gm
  3. Eggs                                                    – 300 gm
  4. Caramel Or Black Jack                          – 12 gm
  5. Refine Flour                                          – 325 gm
  6. Baking Powder                                      – 4 gm 
  7. Almond Powder                                                – 65 gm
  8. Orange Juice                                         – 100 ml
  9. Spices                                                   – 18 gm
  10. Christmas Fruit Mix                              – 550 gm
  11. Vanilla Essence                                                – 5 ml

PROCEDURE:

  1. At first, take a clean bowl and add brown sugar &unsalted buttercream those properly.
  2. Then add egg one by one, make sure egg should be dissolved properly.
  3. After that add vanilla essence, caramel and orange juice one by one.
  4. Then add all the dry ingredients like refine flour baking powder almond powder and spices.
  5. At last add fruit mix, and mix it by hand.
  6. Then take 6 inches round paper mould and put 500gm of the mixture.
  7. After that bake it at 180 degree Celsius for 35 min.
  8.  After bake cools it for 2 – 3 hour then slice it and serve.
  9. Garnish the cake with peeled almonds.

Plum Pudding

INGREDIENTS:

  1. Unsalted Butter                        – 225gm
  2. Caster Sugar                            -225gm
  3. Eggs                                          – 5 gm
  4. Sponge Crumb                          -225gm
  5. Refine Flour                               -225gm
  6. Baking Powder                          – 5 gm
  7. Almond Powder                        – 100 gm
  8. Vanilla Essence                         -5 ml
  9. Spices                                       -5 gm
  10. Christmas Fruit Mix                  – 400 gm
  11. Chopped Apple                         – 50 gm
  12. Rum                                          – 50 ml

PROCEDURE:

  1. Take a bowl and add sugar &unsalted buttercream to it properly.
  2. Add egg one by one; whisk it once the eggs are dissolved properly.
  3. Add vanilla essence to the mixture.
  4. Then add all the dry ingredients – refine flour, sponge crumb, baking powder, almond powder and spices.
  5. After that add chopped apple and mix it properly.
  6. At last, add fruit mix and rum and mix it by hands.
  7. Then take 6 inches round ceramic bowl or silicone mould, for baking and put 500 gm of the mixture.
  8. After that bake it in double boiling at 160 degree Celsius for 45-50 min.
  9. Then cut it and serve with brandy sauce.
