Excerpts
The story of ‘Bad Boy’ revolves around two youngsters who fall in love and are ready to go against all odds to be with each other.”I am playing Rituparna, who is like me or any other girl. She wants a normal life and has small dreams. She is an ideal girl who follows everything told by her parents. However, she is living under certain restrictions and she wants to explore more in the world. She falls in love with this guy though he is bad, but she feels no one understands him and thus she falls for him.” said Amrin.
It’s a story of a bad boy falling in love with a good girl.”And I am playing Raghu, a carefree youth just like the youth of today, who gets attracted to every other girl. But when he falls in love with Rituparna, he crosses all obstacles for her. This time it was pure love,” Namashi added. “He is a bad boy with a good heart.Love has changed him completely. It’s a very relatable character.Every Indian youth is like Raghu.”
Praising his co-star, Namashi said,”she is the one girl who is growing with each day,her commitment and her sincerity are very inspiring. An incredible actor and very hardworking who was always full of energy. She is very sincere and I learnt a lot from her. I have never seen any actor transforming from day one like she did. I couldn’t have a better co-actor than her.”
Sharing about her working experience with Namashi, Amrin told that she was quite shy initially but Namashi was quite open and never hesitant.
” Working with Rajkumar ji was exemplary, he is an actor’s dream. He is so clear in his head about what he wants, it made it very easy for us to do our job and also gave me a lot of assurance about this journey,” added the actor. When Amrin was asked how she deals with the pressure of being a producer’s daughter, she said,” I do not misuse.I may have got an easy entry but now survival in the industry is my hard work. Moreover my whole family is very career oriented and we only discuss work. It’s my father’s conscious decision never to mark his presence on the film sets.” ” I can empathize,I can feel the pain of a producer who has invested such a huge amount on a film so can never take advantage of it”. Amrin is very happy about the changing taste of the audience. “It’s the good story, good content which goes with the audience now.” On paparazzi culture Amrin told that only relevant paparazzi culture is the need of the hour. But a lot depends on the audience. Audience has made as well as marred many stars.
Namashi too is not in favor of paparazzi culture,he said that it’s been adapted by the western culture. Namashi is ready for accepting changing cinema as an actor. He is open to every kind of cinema and medium. When Namashi was asked about how he deals with the pressure and responsibility of being Mithun Sir’s son.He told that comparison is quite evident “I have resemblance with him as well .Honestly, I’ve learnt how to live with it. We are four siblings,we don’t represent any actor but represent one of the greatest superstars of the country, ever. He added that its unfair to make comparisons with his father Mithun Chakraborty. “If you compare me with a living legend, I don’t think I can fill his shoes in one film.” “To even think that I will be able to achieve that is absolutely impossible. What is in my hands is to work hard, be dedicated and better myself, if we talk about comparison pressure, I am already at zero because 47 years versus one film is not even a balance.” “There was a pre release event and all the mega stars attended, that of course could happen because of my father but now post release, whether i will be able to grasp the attention of the audience would be my capability.I hope people will be kind and understand this is my debut film and won’t compare me with a legend.”He expected.
“Acting is not that easy,a lot of good hard work is needed to be a good actor on screen and a very good actor off screen. ‘Bad Boy’ se pahle main berozgar tha ( I was unemployed before I signed it),unemployment brings desperation in you so when I was offered the film, I immediately accepted because I needed work and when I came to know that Raj Kumar Santoshi is the director,I immediately grabbed.
As Amrin prepares for the launch, she recalls a lesson she learnt from veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty’s “I still remember Mithun sir told us that to be a good actor, it is important to be a good human being and this lesson will always remain with me.” “My parents advised me to be natural and be original,” she further said. To this Namashi added,’My dad advised-‘muh band rakh kaam khula rakh'( Don’t say anything just listen to your director).you are lucky you got to work with a director like Raj Kumar Santoshi so listen to what he says.’ Dad has asked me to be ready for the best and be prepared for the worst.” And in that note he signed off.
The star cast includes Johny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Darshan Jariwala, Saswata Chatterjee and Rajesh Sharma in key roles. The film also has a short cameo appearance by Mithun Chakraborty..
