Outside my bedroom window stands a magnificent Amaltash tree. Each year, it bursts into bloom with stunning yellow flowers that resemble delicate gold chandeliers. Opening the window reveals a vivid flash of color. Unexpectedly, in the sweltering May heat, the tree becomes a spectacular vision, adorned with vibrant yellow blossoms that seem to bow gracefully, paying tribute to nature. These flowers blend harmoniously with the tree’s light green leaves, bringing a cheerful splash of color to a hot summer day.
One might assume the Amaltash tree is only visually stunning, devoid of any fragrance. However, that’s not the case. In the early morning, its delicate and subtle scent fills the air. When sunlight bathes the blossoms, they glisten like gold.
Their beauty takes on an even more magical and sublime quality at night. I once observed them by moonlight, and the sight was truly enchanting.
The stars sparkle like little diamonds, heralding a brilliant destiny…..till I close my eyes and say, “The future is so bright that it hurts the eyes!”
The Amaltash tree, bathed in moonlight, looks almost ethereal. I longed to capture that moment forever by having dinner with my husband under its enchanting glow, with the soothing music of ghazals playing in the background. Yet, the most precious commodity in my life is in short supply—Time. My time is not my own. I’m bound by the demands of success, which must be honored because the public, in their boundless love and trust, has placed me on a pedestal. Falling from it is not an option.
When I noticed the flowers again, I realized a whole year had passed, as they bloom only once annually. Perhaps one evening next May, I will finally take the time to enjoy this spectacular sight—these flowers, so close I can almost touch them. Maybe next May, my dream will come true!
