Anti-ageing Creams

By Shahnaz Husain

No other organ of the body manifests the signs of age the way the skin does. Some skins age prematurely, while others preserve their youthfulness for a longer time. Generally speaking, with age, tell-tale signs are visible, like lines and wrinkles, loss of skin elasticity and so on.

Somewhere within the living cell is locked the fascinating mystery of the aging process. A great deal of research has been devoted to anti-wrinkle treatments. Today, there are several forms of skin rejuvenating methods.  Whether they help to regenerate new cells, or stimulate the immune system, or involve surgical intervention, removing age-related changes is definitely a possibility.

Night creams or nourishing creams can have anti-ageing benefits. If one wonders which creams are beneficial, I would say that the ingredients in the creams do help to delay ageing changes on the skin and can also rejuvenate the skin. One of these is plant stem cell cream. Plant stem cells have the ability to activate the process of repair and replacement of dead and damaged skin cells. Lines and wrinkles reduce gradually and thus, ageing signs are reversed. The skin looks tighter, firmer and younger.  Similarly, green tea extracts and grape seed extracts are said to contain powerful antioxidants. Research has also revealed that Vitamin B3 (Niacin) helps to improve skin elasticity and thus delays sagging of the skin.

Generally speaking, with age, tell-tale signs of ageing are visible, like lines and wrinkles, loss of skin elasticity and so on. This is because the skin cells become dry and lose their ability to retain moisture. In winter, the skin loses moisture to the atmosphere, which needs to be replaced. Sun-exposure can also cause loss of moisture. Dryness becomes apparent on the outer layer of the skin, which develops fine lines. Moisture, therefore, is of extreme importance.

Modern research has revealed that facial massage with creams has several benefits, especially in terms of delaying the visible signs of ageing. Professional cleansing, toning, exfoliation and massage, which are all part of a salon facial, help to keep the skin supple and delay lines and wrinkles. Both skin and facial muscles are toned, preserving firmness and elasticity. A facial massage also strengthens the supportive tissues and this improves the skin’s resilience and elasticity. Special massage techniques are used for special areas, like the delicate region around the eyes. Massage also stimulates blood circulation and lymphatic drainage, purifying the skin, making it smooth and youthful.
