Frequently asked questions answered by the Beauty Icon
I am 52. Please tell me remedies for sagging skin.
Avoid soap and use a cleansing gel or cream. At night after cleansing, apply nourishing cream and massage it on the face with outward and slightly upward movements. Use a face mask once or twice a week.Mix 2 teaspoons wheat bran (choker) with one teaspoon each of ground almonds, honey, curd and egg white, or rose water. Apply on the entire face, avoiding the lips and area around eyes. Wash it off after half an hour. Have weekly salon facials.
My feet are very dry and have black marks. Please tell me some home remedies.
Take lemon halves and rub them daily on the dark marks on your feel. Wash off and apply sesame seed (til) oil or olive oil daily on the feet. Immediately after bath, apply cream or body lotion, while the skin is still damp. Twice a week, mix besan with curd, lemon juice and a little turmeric into a paste and apply on the feet. Wash it off with plain water after 30 minutes.
I have split ends and rough hair. Please suggest home remedies.
Cutting off the split ends is the only remedy. Then give your hair regular care. Avoid tying the hair tightly with rubber bands. Avoid using hair dryers and brushes. Use a wide-toothed comb. Twice a week heat pure coconut oil and apply on the hair. Apply on ends too. Then dip a towel in hot water, squeeze out the water and wrap the hot towel around the head, like a turban. Keep it on for 5 minutes. Repeat the hot towel wrap 3 or 4 times. Use a mild herbal shampoo. After shampoo, apply a creamy conditioner, taking less quantity and massaging it lightly into the hair. Apply on ends too. Leave on for 2 minutes and rinse off with plain water. You can also apply a “leave-on” type of conditioner or hair serum. Apply the same way, but do not rinse
I have a round face and short curly hair. Please suggest a hairstyle.
For short hair, you can select a style that keeps the end of the hair above the jaw line, giving an impression of a longer face. The hair should go upwards, on top of the head, rather than too much at the sides. Use conditioner or hair serum to make the hair look smoother. Have a middle parting and avoid fringes. The hair should not add too much width at the sides.
