SWAROVSKI PRESENTS TARUN TAHILIANI AT FDCI INDIA COUTURE WEEK 2019
Inspiration
Richness of Kashmir-inspired kashida embroidery
Highlights
* Use of Kashmir-inspired kashida, a fine zari work used around prints, jammevar and resham thread embroidery to make sure the bride is not weighed down by her outfit. Floral motifs combined with French knots, tulle, jaali burned in the fabric, lace, and ombré beading
* Richly detailed, structured drapes, contoured construction, and fabrics merge to make the garment feel like second skin, and yet, allow the freedom and comfort to dance the night away
Shade Card
For mehendi and poojas, deep, earthy Indian hues
For pre-wedding functions and cocktails, a rich palette of electric blue, deep violet and plum
For wedding, soft pastels of peach, dusty rose, blush pink, coral, teal, vintage gold and aqua
Show Stopper
‘Non-show-stopper-show-stopper’ who wears a white frill gown which is a stunning ‘work in progress’ with a matching sheer net pulled over her face
“There was no showstopper this time as mostly it happens that the people are more interested in the muse than the clothes, shares Tarun at a post-show conference. “For me, these models are my showstopper. They walk down the ramp wearing my clothing line and they are the stars of my show,” reiterates the designer.
Jewellery
Intricate gold pieces set with uncut diamonds from Paramani Jewels
