Celebrating Women Driving Change

IMC Ladies’ Wing Hosts IMPACT 2025

The IMC Ladies’ Wing marked International Women’s Day in grand style with IMPACT 2025, an event that celebrated women who inspire change and redefine empowerment. Held at the Trident Hotel, Nariman Point, the gathering brought together trailblazers from diverse fields to honor their contributions and spark meaningful conversations.

The event was graced by Shabana Azmi, the legendary actor and social activist, who attended as the Chief Guest. In a candid and thought-provoking conversation with veteran film journalist Bhawana Somaaya, Azmi reflected on her five-decade journey in cinema and the evolving role of women in society.

Honoring Visionaries

IMPACT 2025 recognized two exceptional women for their pioneering work:

  • Kiran Rao, acclaimed filmmaker, was celebrated for her impactful storytelling and authentic portrayal of nuanced female characters.
  • Tanvi Jindal Shete, Founder of the Museum of Solutions, was honored for her innovative contributions to education and her commitment to fostering creative learning.

A compelling panel discussion followed, featuring Kiran Rao, Tanvi Jindal Shete, and Priya Tanna, President of TRS Creative Consulting. The conversation delved into their personal journeys, shedding light on leadership, resilience, and the power of embracing change.

A Celebration of Art and Empowerment

The evening concluded with a mesmerizing performance of “A Million Sitas” by renowned Bharatanatyam dancer Dr. Anita Ratnam. The production reimagined Sita as a timeless symbol of strength, challenging traditional narratives and offering a fresh perspective on female empowerment.

IMC Ladies’ Wing President Jyoti Doshi delivered a powerful message, stating, “As we move forward, we must strive for a world that is safer, fairer, and truly equal. So that a hundred years from now, when Women’s Day is celebrated, future generations will look back at us with pride, joy, and gratitude.”

Surbhi Ghatlia, IMPACT Chairperson, emphasized the importance of evolution and adaptability: “Today’s woman knows her strength, and for that strength to create lasting impact, we must embrace change, evolve, and adapt to new ideas and perspectives.”

The event was spearheaded by a dedicated team:

  • President: Jyoti Doshi

  • Chairperson: Surbhi Ghatlia
