Five Point Five collaborated with local weavers in Benaras and the collaboration resulted in a stunning collection that showcases various traditional weaves such as silk, chanderi, georgette, kora, and tissue. This collaboration has been successful, with the brand releasing two collections inspired by the rich weaving heritage of Benaras.
Hoichoi’ collection
Following their success in Benaras, Five Point Five expanded their horizons to the vibrant city of Kolkata. In Kolkata, they launched the ‘Hoichoi’ collection, which is designed to capture the festive spirit and the joyous atmosphere that permeates festivals in India. This collection features a wide range of saris made from different fabrics like cotton, linen, and tussar silk. It also explores the local jamdani weave of Kolkata, which is known for its intricate patterns and delicate craftsmanship. The collection incorporates various textures and surface designs to create a diverse and visually appealing range of clothing for festive occasions.
Festive Collection
This move to celebrate and incorporate the local weaving traditions and cultural elements from both Benaras and Kolkata showcases Five Point Five’s commitment to preserving and promoting traditional craftsmanship while creating contemporary and fashionable collections.
Recently, Five Point Five displayed its collection at the Embassy of Belgium in New Delhi, where H.E. Mr Didier Anna L. Vanderhasselt hosted the NGO Akshya Pratisthan’s annual Diwali ‘Festa of Lights’ exhibition.
