Lakmé India, brought its first skincare inspired showcase, the #LitWithLumi show, in full force on the runway on the first day of the five days of fashion at the ongoing FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week. Bringing innovation to the forefront, Lakmé India’s skincare trend statement for the season, featured the luminescence of the Lakmé Lumi Cream which was exuberantly weaved in through crystals and pastels. The stylized collection brought the designer duo’s unique handwriting of 3D geometry and construction to life for audiences in a never seen before manner.

The showcase was creatively directed and choreographed by one of India’s leading voices in fashion and entertainment, Neeraj Gaba, The acrylic ramp was lit up with aspirational forward visuals that brought to the fore poised silhouettes, much like the Lakmé Lumi Cream’s 3D highlighting features.

With flowing drapes in organza that were weaved in with Alpana Neeraj’s signature magic touch, the collection was a celebrated return to life, post pandemic with an approach that was no fuss and minimalistic in its aesthetic. Balanced with subtle colour pops and pastels in reds, pinks and whites much like the light textures of the Lakmé Lumi Cream moisturizer, the spot on and fierce construction style made way for an equal amount of flexibility and functionality.
Commenting on the showcase, Sumati Mattu, Head of Innovations at Lakmé said, “We are proud to partner with Alpana Neeraj, who spectaculary brought to life Lakmé India’s first creative showcase inspired by our skincare trend statement for the season. The #LitWithLumi presentation driven by the Lakmé Lumi Cream was a true reflection of how our transformative skincare solutions have emerged and evolved with changing consumer needs. Seeing the 3D instantaneous glow, everyday flair and the functionality of the product come to life on the runway in the striking yet subtle drapes as attributes of the Lumi Cream was a memorable experience for us and we are hoping that this collection is only the first of many more skincare inspired collaborations at FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week.”
Designer Alpana of the label Alpana Neeraj said, “It was an honour to debut Lakmé India’s first skincare showcase at the FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week as part of our first fully physical on ground presentation in two years. Interpreting the dual moisturizing and 3D highlighting features of the Lakmé Lumi Cream at the forefront of our signature drapes, was a renewal of the way in which the worlds of fashion and beauty are now becoming closer than ever. Style, strength, functionality, and the femininity of being unapologetically realistic was a key focus for our homecoming collection at the platform and we are glad to have got the chance to bring our vision to life.”
