Synopsis
Masquerade is a story of a Successful Heroine ‘Vera’ (Played by Dilraj) who has fallen in love with a Famous Film Director ‘Roy’ (Played by Arvinder Chamak). Masquerade is a story of the life of the dwellers of the tinsel town where the limelight hardly gives time for their personal life. By the time the stars wake from the intoxication of glamour and fame, they realise what they lost in the glare of this psychedelic light.
Vera loves Roy, and that is the problem. No one indulges in real love while living in the fairyland. Fairytales have a fitting ending; the prince saves the princess from the monster. But in real life, behind the camera everyone has to save his her space and career. Roy is a seasoned man, who understands that if he falls for Vera, his career will be ruined. There are characters that watch and understand everything but have learned to keep everything to them and mind their own business. One such character in the film is AD (played by Jasleen). She knows everything but wears an invisible mask of ignorance. A Masquerade is going on in the town everywhere and everyone is wearing a mask according to the ensemble. Visible or invisible. Masquerade is a story of everyone who works in the Film Industry.
Directed by Dev Hindavi, Urdu poet, Screenwriter and Director, and Produced by Balvinder Kaur for East West Productions, India, Masquerade is a short film which has won Best Director award at MDIFF, UK and came in the Finalist in MDIFF, UK. It was screened in the UK between May 25 to May 31, 2022. It received Official Selection at 12th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival 2022, New Delhi.
Masquerade has entered Cult Movies, UK, and was accepted for contesting “Fabrizio Borgogna” Award for the best short film at Procida Film Festival, Procida Island, Napoli, Italy, Placed in All Time Hits by MDIFF, UK. Masquerade is also set to be screened at prestigious FT Filmmakers Sessions@Pinewood Studios, London. It is also at Kerala International Short Films Festival, Kerala, India, Ideal International Film Festival, India, Indian Film Festival, Melbourne, Australia. Above all, it has also gone to London Directors Awards, London, UK for the work of Dev Hindavi, Director of this ‘Making Waves’ film.
Subtitled in five languages, English, French, German, Spanish and Italian, Masquerade found appreciation for its screenplay and dialogues, again written by Dev Hindavi.

EWP is planning to release the film only after it completes its rounds at the Awards, Sessions and Festivals Worldwide. “Special Screening” was held at Art Gallery Auditorium, Indian Academy of Fine Arts, Amritsar under the aegis of Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, Chairman, Shivdev Singh, President of IAFA.
