Aneeth Arora’s péro celebrates its 15th anniversary with a playful collaboration featuring Hello Kitty, bringing a vibrant, nostalgic collection to the runway at Lakmé Fashion Week.

We witnessed the magic of péro unfold yet again at Lakmē Fashion Week, where Aneeth Arora’s beloved brand took center stage on October 9, 2024, in New Delhi. From the moment we stepped into the venue, we could feel the palpable excitement in the air—this was no ordinary fashion show. It marked the 15th anniversary of péro, and the whimsical world Aneeth has created over the years was about to collide with the charm of Hello Kitty, celebrating its 50th milestone.

As the lights dimmed and the first model graced the runway, we were transported to a playful, nostalgic space. The Spring-Summer 2025 collection, ‘HELLO péro,’ was an instant delight. We saw Hello Kitty’s favorite elements—cherries, strawberries, creamy cupcakes, and milk cartons—come alive on péro’s signature silhouettes. There was something so comforting, yet fresh about how these motifs were woven into dresses, skirts, jackets, and trousers, all infused with the unmistakable quirk of Japanese Harajuku street style.

What struck us most was the joy that radiated from every piece. The color palette of pinks, reds, blues, and sunny yellows made the garments pop with vibrancy, and the intricate detailing—hand embroidery, beadwork, fabric origami, and playful tassels—brought a sense of wonder to the collection. We couldn’t help but marvel at how beautifully péro had combined nostalgia with its own quirky aesthetic, which Aneeth so aptly calls ‘Cottage Core Kawaii.’

As we admired the fantastical prints and textiles—Chanderi, Mashru, silks, and Jamdani—it became clear that péro’s deep connection to Indian craftsmanship was woven into every fiber of the collection. The garments felt like pieces of art, created not just for fashion’s sake, but to tell a story. It’s this rootedness in tradition, yet effortless modernity, that makes péro so unique. The beauty of the show lay in the seamless fusion of these worlds, making it easy to imagine wearing these pieces on the streets of Paris or London, just as much as in Delhi.

Aneeth’s personal touch was present throughout, from the handmade textiles to the whimsical Hello Kitty accessories—charming socks, hats, and bags—that completed the looks. We couldn’t help but smile at the adorable Hello Kitty rumāls, adding that perfect playful twist.

In words of Aneeth Arora, “It’s been a dream to celebrate péro’s 15th anniversary by opening Lakmē Fashion Week. This collection is special because it brings our collective childhood nostalgia to life in péro’s quirky, fun style—cottage core with a twist!”

Sunanda Khaitan, Vice President of Lakmé, said, “We’re thrilled to see péro’s blend of heritage and modernity set the tone for Lakmē Fashion Week. It’s a perfect representation of our trendsetting vision.” Sunil Sethi, Chairman of FDCI, echoed the sentiment, calling Aneeth’s work “captivating,” and praised her for seamlessly blending Indian textiles with global sensibilities. Jaspreet Chandok, Group VP at Reliance Brands, added, “péro’s 15th anniversary showcase has set a magical tone for what promises to be a season filled with innovation, creativity, and pure fashion magic.”

As we left the show, we couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe and wonder at how péro continues to surprise us, year after year. ‘HELLO péro’ was not just a collection; it was an experience—a joyful celebration of nostalgia, craftsmanship, and imaginative design that will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on the world of fashion.
