Winter is knocking at our door. We know that cold days lie ahead. The humidity in the air will become less and the skin will also become dry. So prepare for winter, because the secret of good skin lies in the right kind of care.
Dry skins need more care in preparation for winter. If the skin is normal to dry, cleanse twice a day with a cleansing gel containing aloe vera. At night, cleansing is even more important, in order to remove make-up and other pollutants. Make-up cosmetics also cause dryness. Massage the cleanser lightly into the skin and remove it with moist cotton wool.
During the day, use sunscreen, before going out in the sun. Sun exposure leads to further moisture loss.
A liquid moisturiser should be used under make-up. Apply it before using foundation. Whenever the skin feels dry, apply a liquid moisturiser.
Dry skin should be nourished with a good night cream. Massage it on the skin, with upward and outward movements, for 3 to 4 minutes. Wipe off all cream with moist cotton wool.
When winter is near, oily skins feel dry soon after washing. To moisturize oily skin, take 100 ml rose water and add one teaspoon of pure glycerin. Keep in an airtight bottle in the fridge. Apply a little of this lotion whenever the skin feels dry.
The skin on the lips is very thin. It becomes dry and chapped easily. Apply pure almond oil or almond cream on lips and leave it on overnight.
Apply honey on the face daily for 10 minutes. It is a natural moisturizer. Wash off with plain water. It keeps the skin soft and prepared to face winter.
Nothing like a fruit mask to get ready for winter! Fruits like banana, apple, papaya and orange can be mixed together and applied on the face. They can be made into a pulp. Keep it on for 20 to 30 minutes. Wash off with water.
Mashed banana, applied like a mask, is excellent for dry skin during winter.
For an ideal pre-winter face pack, mix into a paste one teaspoon each dried milk powder and rose water with half teaspoon honey. Apply on the face. Remove after 20 minutes with water.
Take one peeled and cored apple and puree it in a blender. Add one tablespoon of honey. Apply on the face like a pack. Wash off after 15 minutes.
