FashionFDCI x LAKMÉ FASHION WEEK

Shruti Sancheti’s “Alchemy”

Her collection was  inspired by her favourite childhood spots.

Highlights

The collection’s beauty revolved around the many hues of the gorgeous Maheshwari fabrics in metallic hues, while sheer Chanderi in dusty pastels, raw silk and silk woven in Karnataka clusters created an ideal base.

Use of German silver diskettes, metallic threads and embellishments that featured an assortment of motifs

The craft techniques were intricate and inspired by the delicate work from the Mughal era

The embroidery moved into the colourful past with Danka from Udaipur, which was perfected by the Rajasthani royal families and added to the Pita and Ektar work that created the perfect fusion touch.

The colors were a mixed palette of cyan, burnt orange and a variety of metallic dusty deep blues, while ecru and charcoal brought variety to the tones.
