Tasva Presents ‘BAARAAT’ in collaboration with designer Tarun Tahiliani
Tasva by Aditya Birla Fashion Retail Ltd, in collaboration with designer Tarun Tahiliani, unveiled its Autumn/Winter 2024 Wedding Collection with a spectacular event, BAARAAT by Tasva. Held on 13th October 2024 at the Travancore Palace in New Delhi, the show celebrated the vibrant spirit of Indian weddings, with Ranbir Kapoor closing the event, embodying the modern Indian groom.
A Dynamic Lineup of Modern Grooms
The runway featured a diverse mix of personalities, each showcasing Tasva’s wedding collection with style and charisma. Vihaan Samat, comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi, Michelin-star chef Suvir Saran, and popular influencers Mohak Narang, Manav Chhabra, Unnati Malharkar, and Apoorva (The Rebel Kid) brought their unique energy to the show, representing the modern groom in their own distinctive ways.
A Bold Vision of the Baaraat
Inspired by the joyous Indian wedding procession, BAARAAT by Tasva redefined the traditional baaraat, placing the groom at the heart of the celebration. The show offered a contemporary twist to this age-old tradition, elevating the groom’s role as the central figure in the wedding narrative.
Ranbir Kapoor graced the runway, closing the event with an Indian wedding-style baaraat. Reflecting on the experience, he said, “Today’s grooms are more than just part of the ceremony; they are the heart of the story. This collection allows them to express their individuality while staying connected to their roots. With luxurious textures and bold silhouettes, it redefines menswear.”
The Collection: A Fusion of Tradition and Modern Design
The Autumn/Winter 2024 Wedding Collection merges traditional Indian artistry with modern silhouettes. Drawing inspiration from Romanesque architecture, Baroque opulence, and abstract art, the collection features Shikargah and Phulkari motifs, Aari and mirror work, zardosi embroidery, and pearl embellishments.
Silhouettes like the angrakha sherwani, tailored dinner jackets, and asymmetrical designs combine elegance with contemporary flair. The color palette ranges from soft pastels like ivory and gold to deep jewel tones, offering versatility for various wedding functions.
Tarun Tahiliani’s Design Philosophy
Tarun Tahiliani, Chief Design Officer of Tasva, explained his vision: “My goal is to blend traditional craftsmanship with contemporary tailoring, offering ease and comfort for today’s groom. Indian clothing should be both supremely comfortable and stylish for the most important moments of one’s life.”
Tasva’s Commitment to Modern Grooming
