Reopens with New Health & Safety Guidelines in Place
The Phillips Collection reopens its doors to the public on Thursday, October 15, with new safety measures in place in accordance with health guidelines and in response to the covid-19 pandemic. As a thank you for continued support, early access will be offered to members and community partners from October 8-11.

Following communications from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and District of Columbia public health sources, The Phillips Collection and Phillips@THEARC have been temporarily closed since March 14.
The Phillips Collection staff has worked diligently over the past few months to craft a detailed and phased plan that will allow the museum to reopen while ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of not only our visitors but also our staff.

The museum’s Goh Annex and Sant Building will be open Thursdays-Sundays, from 11 am to 6 pm starting October 8 for members and community partners and October 15 for the public, with tickets available on the Monday prior. All visitors will be required to reserve a timed ticket and abide by safety guidelines. The museum shop will be open, but the Phillips House galleries as well as Tryst as the Phillips café will remain closed. The Phillips Collection will continue to monitor CDC and DC guidelines in order to assess and update visitor hours and protocols.

As part of our celebration of women artists in honor of the 100th anniversary of the 19th amendment, The Phillips Collection presents a special installation on the outside of the museum by Jenny Holzer.
Selections from the Permanent Collection
Highlights include The Rothko Room, Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s Luncheon of the Boating Party, selections from Jacob Lawrence’s Migration Series, and more.
The Phillips Collection will continue to present digital offerings and all public programs will be virtual.
