A Nutritious Delight
Turkish Hazelnuts, hailed as the ‘miracle nut,’ have made their debut in India with a grand four-year campaign, unveiled at the Turkish Embassy in New Delhi. This initiative, spearheaded by the Turkish Hazelnut Exporters Associations in partnership with the Nuts and Dry Fruits Council of India (NDFCI), marks a significant milestone for both the Turkish hazelnut industry and the Indian nuts market. The event, attended by His Excellency Mr. Fırat Sunel, Turkish Ambassador, Mr. Hasan Osman Sabır, Chairman of the Blacksea Hazelnut and Hazelnut Products Exporters Association, and Mr. Gunjan Jain, President of NDFCI, highlights the introduction of Turkish Hazelnuts as a nutritious, versatile ingredient and healthy snack.
Türkiye, renowned for producing 65% of the world’s hazelnuts, combines traditional cultivation methods with modern standards to ensure superior quality. The country’s rich heritage in hazelnut processing ensures that every nut retains its exceptional flavor and nutritional value.
Turkish Ambassador Fırat Sunel remarked, “The launch of Turkish Hazelnuts in India symbolizes a significant step in strengthening Türkiye-India relations. These hazelnuts, reflecting our rich agricultural legacy, offer quality and tradition that we hope will resonate with Indian consumers. This collaboration paves the way for further partnerships in the food and culinary sectors.”
Hasan Osman Sabır highlighted the growing interest in Turkish Hazelnuts, noting, “We are excited to introduce our miracle nut to India, a market known for appreciating quality. With increasing demand and a promising trend in incorporating Turkish hazelnuts into confectionery, we anticipate India becoming a major consumer in the next decade.”
Turkish Hazelnuts are celebrated for their sweet, exotic flavor and robust nutritional profile. Packed with essential vitamins, dietary fiber, and monounsaturated fats, they are a healthy snack option that supports overall well-being. Consuming just 25-30 grams daily provides 100% of the recommended daily allowance for vitamin E and offers additional benefits like improved energy, skin nourishment, and support for bone and heart health.
Gunjan Jain from NDFCI expressed enthusiasm for the launch, stating, “We’re thrilled to bring Turkish Hazelnuts to the Indian market, meeting the rising demand for premium nuts. Their exceptional quality and versatility will enrich the Indian culinary landscape and boost the economy.”
Indian consumers can now enjoy the delightful taste and health benefits of Turkish Hazelnuts, available at modern retail outlets and online platforms.
