Village Square Invites Submissions for Culture and Climate-Themed Chitrashaala Short Film Fest
The Chitrashaala Short Film Festival is thrilled to announce an open call for student film submissions for our upcoming festival. We are seeking innovative, thought-provoking, and captivating films that explore any aspect of rural India. The short films will be judged by a three-person jury from the Film Critics Guild, an association of movie critics headed by renowned film commentator and television personality Anupama Chopra. The jury members for this film festival are Arnab Banerjee, Journalist and Film critic at BBC, Suparna Sharma, Senior Journalist and Film critic, The Week, and Shomini Sen, Entertainment and lifestyle editor, Wion.
If your short film is under 45 minutes and resonates with themes like those in “Lucknow Chikankari” by Muzaffar Ali, Chitrashaala awaits your submissions!
The top three selected films will be screened at Alliance Française, Lodhi Road, New Delhi on August 3, 2024, at Village Square’s Chitrashaala Film Festival. The winners will also be felicitated at the event and receive merchandise gift hampers. Submissions are open exclusively to college students.
Criteria: There is no entry fee for submitting a film. Each film must be between 5 and 45 minutes long and based on rural themes. Submissions must be original works of the filmmaker. Plagiarism or unauthorized use of copyrighted material will result in disqualification. Films should not contain any offensive or inappropriate content. Films can be documentaries or fiction works. Only one entry per person is allowed.
