The relationship especially in case of unmarried folks has, to an extent, lost its worth. Even if the people are committed to each other it is no guarantee to a marriage or a long term relationship.
The reasons why people are moving to a more casual relationship from a committed one are:
– The relationship does not guarantee marriage in the future or a long-term relationship. People prefer to stay away from commitment for the fear of heartbreak or separation later.
– In situationship, a person is free to do what they want. They could meet friends, travel, relocate to another city, state or nation. Relationships restrict such actions of a person if they have a controlling and non-supportive partner.
– Fear of commitment has also led people to move to situationship. People do not want to commit in a hurry and would take some time to observe and understand the person they are with. People do not want to make any wrong decisions while selecting a partner.
– Situationship allow an individual to date openly with multiple men or women which is not possible in a committed relationship.
– Many people are opting for situationship just because of the social trend. They are just going with the trend without knowing the pros and cons of what they are getting into and why they are doing so.
